Image Manipulation: Layer Mask

This example is a layer-masking composite,
created from 4 individual stock images:
  • lightbulb; in the verticle position, over white background,
  • water splash; (from a standard full-frame photograph) shot at surface level,
  • goldfish; from a (previously rendered) transparency.
  • spigot, with a water stream

The illusion is created using image manipulation software to demonstrate the seamless merging of separate elements into one.

To further the illusion, a 'reflection' was generated
 to add greater dimension.
